On Friday 25 October 2013, 50 new and existing KALA members attended the KALA mixer on 25 October 2013 at the St James Hotel. The event allowed KALA to broaden its membership and allowed old acquaintances to catch-up over a couple of drinks.
During the event, Ken Hong, the President of KALA reflected on how KALA has become much more active in recent years. He also detailed the pro bono Korean Community Legal Service that KALA provides in conjunction with the Korean Consulate General Office for the Korean community.
The event provided an opportunity for the members to meet in an informal setting and exchange contacts and ideas and also share experiences with fellow aspiring lawyers. KALA again provided networking opportunities for its student members through this event.
2013 End of Year KALA BBQ
The End of Year KALA BBQ has become a tradition and in 2013, KALA met on Saturday 14 December 2013 to continue the tradition at Strathfield Park. The weather was beautiful and with around 30 KALA members and their families enjoyed great food, company and fun games. It was great to see newcomers came along and feel the togetherness of KALA members.
As it was the end of the year, the members of KALA were in a festive mood. This was evident during the friendly competitions involving a number of games. The team consisting of mostly “old boys” took the win and surprised everyone with their athleticism. it was a great way to end 2013 as a group and it provided a rare chance to soak up some much needed sun and catching up with new and old friends.

KALA Mentoring Program
The Mentoring Program continued in 2012
The purpose of new allocations is to ensure that student members have the benefit of having access to a wider range of mentors from whom they are able to seek guidance.
We thank the solicitor mentors who have given up their capacities to mentor our younger up-and –coming professionals. We trust the experience has been beneficial and personally rewarding.
We also thank the student mentees for their initiative in seeking guidance and support from those who have already walked the path that the mentees are about to walk.
